A man with criminal cases pending against him, was shot dead inside a lawyer's chamber in the Dwarka District Court complex in Southwest Delhi on Monday night, The Hindu reported..The 42-year-old murdered man was identified as Swikar Luthra by Santosh Kumar Meena, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Dwarka. The police have filed a case and investigation in the matter is currently underway. The case has been registered under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code.According to police authorities, Luthra was shot at about 9 PM in the night when he was visiting advocate Arun Sharma's chamber. The police mentioned that the deceased had criminal cases against him including those relating to cheating and extortion. Four people have been accused of the murder. Out of these, one is absconding and the rest are being interrogated. The CCTV footage of the incident has also been procured by the authorities and is being examined.The reason behind the killing is yet to be ascertained but the witnesses present at the crime scene claimed that an argument had broken out between the deceased and the absconding suspect following which the accused shot Luthra. Thereafter, Luthra was rushed to nearby Ruprani Maggo hospital where he was declared dead.
