Gangster Abu Salem has been convicted on charges of conspiracy and terrorist acts under the Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act, 1987 in the 1993 Mumbai Blasts case..The decision was rendered by a Special TADA Court in Mumbai, reports NDTV..Besides Salem, Mustafa Dossa, Karimullah Khan, Firoz Abdul Rashid Khan, Riyaz Siddiqui and Tahir Merchant have also been pronounced guilty by Special TADA judge GA Sanap..However, the above accused were acquitted of the charge of waging war against Government of India under Section 121 of IPC..Further, one accused, Abdul Qayyum has been acquitted of all charges..This is the second batch of accused who were being tried for the 12 blasts that rocked the city in 1993 killing 257 people. Earlier around 100 people were convicted in a trial, which had ended in 2007..The sentences in the verdict will be pronounced on Monday.
