Dr. Neeru Chadha has been elected as the judge of the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (ITLOS) becoming the first Indian woman to be elected to ITLOS..Dr. Chadha is also the first woman from India to occupy a top UN position, after Vijaya Lakshmi Pandit, who served as the President of the United Nations General Assembly..Dr Chadha, who did her graduation from the University of Michigan and the University of Delhi, joined the Legal and Treaties Division of the Ministry of External Affairs in 1992.
