Nishith Desai gets ex-Amarchand Partner Aysswarya Murthi to lead firm’s Silicon Valley office

Nishith Desai Associates has hired Aysswarya Murthi in Palo Alto. Aysswarya, a former Partner at Amarchand Mangaldas moves to NDA from Reed Smith LLP, where she has been building up the firm’s India-US practice..Aysswarya will lead the M&A and Corporate Practice of NDA in the US as well as NDA’s Silicon Valley Office based in Palo Alto..A graduate of NALSAR, Hyderabad, Aysswarya started her career with Amarchand Mangaldas in 2005. Seven years later, she was made Partner, and moved to the US in 2014..She is dual qualified to practice in both California and India..According to the firm’s press release, Aysswarya was attracted to NDA’s “innovate model”. She said,.“NDA’s multi-disciplinary approach to practice that blends law, tax, business solutions, science and technology truly excites me because it offers a unique value proposition to the client and also allows curious lawyers like me to learn more about other disciplines and provide holistic solutions.”.The Silicon Valley office is not the only presence in the US. Late last year, NDA had set up a New York office with Mansi Seth. Seth, a former NDA Tax and Funds lawyer, who rejoined the firm to head US operations..In the last quarter, another NDA veteran, Dr. Mihir Parikh, till recently Head of NDA’s Research & Knowledge Management Function, relocated to the US to take charge of the ‘Strategic Advisory’ practice of NDA.
