NALSAR Presents the 2nd Ashurst-NSLR Contract Drafting Competition 2010

The National Academy of Legal Studies and Research (Nalsar), Hyderabad will be conducting a National Contract Drafting Competition in association with Ashurst. The problem is scheduled to be launched on August 8 and the last date for submission is midnight of August 29, 2010..The competition was launched last year and received a good response from law students across the country with over a hundred entries. The competition aims to encourage students to think beyond the classroom and engage in the practical applications of the law. It aims to bridge the hiatus between theory and practice..The competition is organised along with Ashurst, a premier international law firm headquartered in London with offices in more than fifteen cities across the globe. Sujoy Bhatia of the India group at the Singapore office of Ashurst will be preparing the problem for this edition..Foreign law firms are increasingly sponsoring a large range of competitions in the NLUs over the past few years. Last year Magic Circle firm Clifford Chance sponsored the NLS Debate, South Asia’s largest debate competition held at the National Law School of India University (NLSIU) in Bangalore and they also sponsor the NLS International Arbitration Moot.
