The Supreme Court today ruled that the National Commission for Minority Educational Institutions (Minority Commission) has original jurisdiction to decide on the minority status of an existing educational institution.
The judgment rendered by Justices AK Goel and Rohinton Nariman thereby overturned the decision of the Calcutta High Court in this regard.
