Mahindra in-house team with Linklaters, Khaitan, CAM and Hogan, JSA act on Mahindra-Ford 1,925 crore JV

Mahindra & Mahindra has formed a joint venture (JV) with Ford Motor Company after buying a 51 percent stake in the Indian unit of the US auto major.

Valued at INR 1,925 crores (US$275 million), the joint venture will be operationally managed by Mahindra, and its governance will be equally composed of representatives of Mahindra and Ford.

The transaction was handled by Mahindra’s in-house Group Legal team: Christopher Krishnamoorthy, Hoshedar Havewala and Karishma Muravne on the Corporate/M&A aspect while Girish Gadgil, Avinash Galav and Suraj Singh on Auto Business aspect and Shilpa Joshi on Intellectual Property issues.

Linklaters provided the English law aspect and the team was led by Partner Savi Hebbur.

Khaitan & Co also advised Mahindra & Mahindra and the team was led by Partner Bhavik Narsana along with Principal Associates Niharika Mepani and Vidur Sinha and Associate Bhavya Bhankharia.

Principal Associates Niharika Mepani, Vidur Sinha and Saswat Subasit and Associates Bhavya Bhankharia, Shubhi Pahwa and Nirali Trivedi acted on diligence aspects. Partner Harsh Parikh along with Senior Associate Sneha Oak Joshi and Associate Aleesha Jadhav advised on  Real Estate Aspects while Partner Adheesh Nargolkar and Senior Associate Sourav Dan advised on IP aspects.
