Why Madras High Court imposed costs of Rs 1 Lakh on 9 Political PartiesMarch 14 2019
In an odd turn of events, a plea for specialised Election manifestos has culminated in the Madras High Court imposing Rs 1 lakh costs each on nine political parties. The costs were imposed by the Bench of Justices N Kirubakaran and SS Sundar after the political parties failed to enter appearance before the Court, despite being summoned in the case last week.
The nine political parties are Indian National Congress, Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam, Pattali Makkal Katchhi, Viduthalai Siruthaikal Katchi, Samuthuva Makkal Katchi
