Luthra promotes Indraneel to partnership to take the partnership to 35 partners

Indraneel will be the third partner in the Capital Markets, Securities and Debt Markets practice..Speaking with Bar & Bench, Partner Madhurima Mukherjee – Head of Capital Markets practice said, “He will be looking into Capital Markets and alongside will be focussing on Debts in particular. Indraneel will be working in conjunction with me in Delhi, like Manan in Mumbai”..Speaking with Senior Partner Mohit Saraf (Head of Luthra, Mumbai) on Indraneel’s promotion to partnership, he said, “Indraneel has been with the firm for six months and joined as a Managing Associate, but in this six-months time he has done a splendid job and has led a number of transactions in the Capital Markets side from the front. He enjoys a very strong reputation with a large number of underwriters and also certain companies in Delhi who he had worked with in 2006 (when he was with Luthra, prior to joining Clifford Chance, London). He is also very good with his work and his client expectation management and it was just a matter of time before he would have been promoted to be a partner. And once he re-joined us from Clifford chance, we thought initially we will review him in the first six months after his joining and when we reviewed, there was nothing he lacked or needed to improve on to become a partner”..Mohit Saraf added on to say, “He completed his six months on January 21, 2011 and yesterday since it was a Luthra family-day function, Indraneel was there with his parents and we surprised him by announcing his partnership”..Indraneel re-joined Luthra in July, 2010 after coming back from Clifford Chance, London. A graduate of the National Law School of India University (2001) and an INLAKS scholar, Indraneel also has an LL.M. from the Michigan Law School. Thereafter he spent 4 years as an Associate in Amarchand & Mangaldas from 2002 to 2005. Indraneel joined Luthra as a Senior Associate in the Capital Markets practice in 2006, before moving on to Clifford Chance in London..Manan Lahoty was promoted to partnership in December, 2009 and is heading the firm’s Capital Markets practice in Mumbai..Indraneel was not available for a comment, at the time of going to press..This takes Luthra’s Partner tally to a total of 35 Partners.
