London-based Fladgate LLP promotes ILS grad, Mythily Katsaris to Partnership

London-based Fladgate LLP has recently promoted Mythily Katsaris, who is part of the firm’s India team, to Partnership at its India Desk. Mythily’s promotion is one of the four Partner promotions announced by the firm..Mythily specialises in corporate and corporate finance matters, including M&A, joint venture agreements, business advisory services and the listing of global depositary receipts and foreign currency convertible bonds on the Luxembourg and Singapore Stock Exchanges..Mythily is dual qualified to practice both in India, and England and Wales. She is a graduate of Indian Law Society, Pune and did her LL.M. from London School of Economics. She joined the firm’s India practice in March 2007..Sunil Sheth, who heads the India practice at Fladgate, says Mythily has been promoted on the basis of her efforts and merit. He says, “With her efforts we have developed clientele in Delhi and now we are expanding in Bangalore”..Sunil, who has been dealing with companies and entrepreneurs in India since the mid 1980s moved to Fladgate about ten years back to set up the firm’s India desk as he himself was also looking for a bigger platform. .He has been dealing with Indian companies and Indian promoters in respect of their overseas investments, which include capital market, M&A, Private Equity and other investments. “We have primarily been working with companies in Delhi and Mumbai and now we are looking to expand in Bangalore and Ahmedabad”, says Sunil..Sunil says, “Our India practice has expanded in the last couple of years and now we have a team of five lawyers. We have a very young team, which is now marketing to its peer group in India”..“Apart from advising Indian clients on corporate and commercial laws, we have expertise in sports law and Intellectual Property laws. We also advise Indian clients in the real estate as well as hotel and hospitality sector”, says Sunil, “So we are acting for Indian companies doing business outside India and not necessarily in the UK.”.Talking about his team Sunil says, “I have a very young, enthusiastic, dedicated, knowledgeable team. I am extremely confident about expanding our India practice”.
