Lok Sabha passes Judicial Appointments Commission Bill with 367 in favour, none against

The Lower House of Parliament passed the National Judicial Appointments Commission Bill of 2014 today afternoon, with the Bill receiving an overwhelming support of 367 votes in favour and none against. The Bill, along with a constitutional amendment that provides constitutional status to the commission, will do away with the collegium system of appointments in the higher judiciary.
