Software Freedom Law Center (SFLC) hiring Senior Counsel

Software Freedom Law Center, India (SFLC) is inviting applications for the post of Senior Counsel at its office in New Delhi.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Lawyers who have a keen interest in civil liberties, intellectual property rights law and technology laws, and who have a desire to defend the digital freedom of citizens may apply.

The responsibilties includes draft articles, opinion pieces, and other miscellaneous literature on issues such as privacy, data protection, free speech, net neutrality and others;

• Draft petitions, provide legal representation, observe litigation proceedings as required;

• Work with law and policy makers i.e. conduct meetings, draft expert opinions, contribute to consultation processes, provide research support and more.

Job Qualification & Skills

• At least 2 years of litigation or policy or transactional experience,

• Excellent legal and non-legal writing and analytical skills, with experience in drafting,

• Experience developing policies, regulations, or standards related to Internet/social media/media content/product issues

• Familiarity with issues at the intersection of law, technology and policy, especially those issues involving emerging technologies.

No. of Position/s: Two (2)

Remuneration: Will be commensurate with experience and will be at par with industry standards.
