The Indian Journal of Projects, Infrastructure, and Energy Law (IJPIEL) is excited to announce that we are now inviting applications for the positions of Senior Editors (2 positions), Associate Editors (5 positions), Junior Editors (4 positions), for spearheading our Journal Team with quality thought leadership.

Senior Editor 

Number of vacancies: 2 (two) 

Eligibility: Final year (5th) students of the five-year integrated B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) degree and final year (3rd) students of the three-year LLB course with a strong academic background and interest towards PIE laws will be preferred. Penultimate (4th) students on an exceptional basis will be allowed. LLM and PhD candidates (Indian and overseas candidates) are strongly encouraged to apply.

Previous editorship experience would be preferred although not necessary.

Criteria

  • Prior academic (courses, publications, summer and winter schools, etc.) and/or professional experience (internships, traineeships, research fellowships, etc.) in the Projects, Infrastructure and Energy field shall be a prerequisite for this post.

  • Internship experience with construction and energy-sector related arbitrations, regulatory organisations (NHAI, IWAI, AAI, etc.), certain PSUs (CIL, BCCL, ONGC, BPCL, HPCL, etc.) or consultancies (for example, Big 4s, Grant Thornton, Mott McDonald), NSE /BSE listed energy and construction companies (for example, Adani Green Energy Ltd, L&T, Sadbhav Engineering, IRB Infra, Rohan-Rajdeep, Welspun, Suzlon, PNC Infratech, Ahlcon, Reliance Energy, etc.) or research organisations (for example, TERI, CEERA-NLSIU) shall be a strong advantage.

  • Holding senior office posts (convenor, president, secretary, etc.) of university societies related to the arcs of law that the Journal focuses on (for example, CASEL-RGNUL, CETL- MNLU Nagpur) shall be seen as a strong advantage. 

Responsibilities

  • The role of the Senior Editor entails approving the submissions after a thorough qualitative evaluation.

  • They would also be responsible for reviewing technical edits.

  • They would be assisted by the Editors-in-chief.

Associate Editor

Number of vacancies: 5 (five)

Eligibility: Applications are invited from students currently in the intermediate years (3rd and 4th) of the five-year integrated BA LL.B. (Hons.) degree and second-year students of the three-year LLB course. 

Criteria

  • Prior academic (courses, publications, summer and winter schools, etc.) and/or professional experience (traineeships, research fellowships, etc.) in the Projects, Infrastructure and Energy field shall not be a prerequisite for this post. However, it is strongly advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • They would be responsible for verifying each source used and proofreading each and every article.

  • They would also have to look into the citations and correct any discrepancies in the same.

  • They would work under the supervision of the Senior Editors.

Junior Editor

Number of vacancies: 4 (four)

Eligibility: Applications are invited from students pursuing the second or third year of their five-year integrated B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) Degree or the first or second year of their three-year LLB degree from recognized a university and all students of the three-year course. 

Criteria

  • A proven interest in research and publications (prior editorial experience or publications with journals or blogs) is a prerequisite for this post.

  • Any internships related to the Projects, Infrastructure and Energy Law; ADR; general corporate; shipping and admiralty shall be seen as a strong advantage.

  • Holding memberships of university societies related to the arcs of law that the Journal focuses on (for example, CASEL-RGNUL, CETL- MNLU Nagpur) shall be seen as a strong advantage. 

Responsibilities

  • The primary role of a junior editor would be to check plagiarism, spelling, grammar and verify facts cited.

  • They will also be responsible for providing initial comments

  • They would be working under the scrutiny of the Associate Editor.

Note: The selection highly depends upon the quality of publications and the work experience of a person. Separate applications have to be sent in for separate posts.

Ordinary Route

The applicants are required to send the following on or before July 4, 2024  at editors.ijpiel.journal@gmail.com  (CC managingeditor.ijpiel@gmail.com and head.cwd.ijpiel@gmail.com ) with the subject of the email as "Name- OR- Application for the post of a Senior/Associate/Junior Editor (Blog)".

  • Curriculum Vitae (PDF Format and the file name should be "Your Name – CV")

  • Statement of Purpose (200- 500 words)

  • Writing samples (maximum of three) should be sent across and should preferably fall within the broad theme of the journal.

Preferential Route

IJPIEL is pleased to announce a preferential application route for its prospective Associate and Senior Editor applicants, which shall remain open till July 4, 2024

The applicants are required to send their applications to editors.ijpiel.journal@gmail.com (CC managingeditor.ijpiel@gmail.com and head.cwd.ijpiel@gmail.com) with the subject of the email as "Name- PR- Application for the post of a Senior/Associate Editor (Blog)".

The requirements for the same (in addition to the requirements of the Ordinary Route) are as follows:

  • A Letter of Recommendation by an eminent practitioner, professor or scholar (hereafter "referee") of Projects, Infrastructure and Energy Law.

  • The letter must be sent as a signed and scanned PDF file via mail by the applicant.

  • The letter must not be more than 1 year old on the date of submission.

  • Letters of Recommendation from a member of IJPIEL's Board of Advisors will be considered. Being in active or recent association with (acting as an intern or a Research Assistant at present or within the last six months) them or their organisations shall be seen as a strong advantage.

  • Please note that mere submission of an application under this route does not guarantee acceptance of the same.

  • All applications under this route shall be decided within 96 hours of the receipt of the application and shall be given preference during the interview round, if selected.

  • The decision of the Editors-in-Chief and the Board of Advisors shall be considered final and binding with respect to all matters related to the expedited selection process.
