Law Officers, panel lawyers get pay increase

The Central government has hiked the fees payable to its law officers and panel lawyers in Supreme Court. A notification to that effect has been published on the website of the Ministry of Law and Justice on October 1, 2015..The fees of the Attorney General, Solicitor General and Additional Solicitor General have been hiked along with the fees payable to panel lawyers – Group A, B and C in Supreme Court..The fee structure applicable to Assistant Solicitor Generals of various High Courts, Central Government Standing Counsel of Delhi High Court, Senior Central Government Standing Counsel of various Benches of CAT and Senior Panel lawyers in various High Courts/ CAT Benches, has also been hiked..As per the revised fee structure, Attorney General is now entitled to a retainer fee of Rs. 75,000 per month while Solicitor General will get a retainer fee of Rs. 60,000.
