Law Minister says 24000 cases of sexual harassment and rape pending before HC and SC

Law and Justice Minister, Ashwani Kumar informed the Rajya Sabha that more than 24,000 cases concerning sexual harassment and rape are pending before the High Courts, and the Supreme Court. As of September 30, 2012, the High Court of Allahabad has 8,215 such cases pending before it, the highest of all the High Courts. The Supreme Court has 335 cases pending as of February 28, 2013.
