French waste and water group Suez has boosted its industrial water treatment business with the acquisition of the industrial water business of GE and consolidated it with SUEZ group’s existing industrial water business in one vertical.
IndusLaw acted as Indian legal counsel for Suez and the team was led by Partner Saurav Kumar along with Principal Associate Jinni Sinha, Senior Associate Harman Walia and Associate Chitvan Bakshi.
SUEZ India in-house legal team was led by General Counsel Prarabdha R. Jaipuriar.
Davis Polk advised Suez on competition law as their global counsel and was assisted by Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas Partner Manika Brar.
Trilegal advised GE India and the team was led by Counsel Karun Prakash along with Associate Pooja Menon.
Baker McKenzie Partner Jannan Crozier advised Suez Groupe as their global counsel and was assisted by Luthra and Luthra Partner Vikrant Kumar.
In an all-cash deal, Suez (SEVI.PA) and Canadian fund Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ) has acquired 100 percent of GE Water’s equity and debt through a 70/30 joint venture, to which Suez will contribute its existing industrial water activities. The new business will operate under the Suez brand, reported Reuters.
