Bloomberg Q3 League Tables: Amarchand tops India M&A League tables; DSK, Platinum ahead of AZB, Khaitan in deal count

Bloomberg has released its latest report on M&A activity in the Asia Pacific region for the first three quarters of 2013. As per the Report, the only Indian law firm to make it to Asia Pacific (Ex-Japan) league table by volume is Amarchand Mangaldas, which advised on 44 deals worth $7.8 billion and was ranked 19th with a market share of 2.2%. .The two Indian law firms to feature in Asia Pacific (Ex-Japan) league table by deal count were Amarchand Mangaldas (ranked 8th) with 44 deals and AZB & Partners (ranked 17th) with 32 deals worth $1.78 billion in the first three quarters of 2013..The top spot for legal adviser by volume went to Allen & Overy, which advised on deals worth $30.13 billion while the top spot for legal adviser by deal count was taken by Baker & Mckenzie which advised on a total of 72 deals..Amarchand Mangaldas topped the India M&A league table by volume advising on deals worth $7.4 billion followed by International law firms Simmons & Simmons and Jones Day, advising on deals worth $5.14 billion and $4.01 billion respectively..The other Indian law firms to make it to the India M&A league table by volume were DSK Legal ($1.6 billion), Platinum Partners ($1.6 billion), AZB & Partners ($1.48 billion) and Khaitan & Co ($1.16 billion)..Both DSK Legal and Platinum Partners (with only one deal each) were placed ahead of AZB & Partners in the India-deals league table by volume..Amarchand Mangaldas (43 deals) topped the India M&A league table by deal count followed by AZB & Partners with 30 deals, Khaitan & Co with 25 deals, DLA Piper and Trilegal with 9 deals each..The new entry to the league table by deal count was Rajani & Associates with only 2 deals and was ranked 12th along with eight other International law firms..M&A Legal Advisory League Table by Volume.M&A Legal Advisory League Table by Deal Count
