Bloomberg 2013 M&A League Tables: Amarchand tops India League ; AZB, Khaitan, DSK, Platinum, Trilegal and S&R follow

Bloomberg has released its latest report on M&A activity in the Asia Pacific region for the year 2013. As per the Report, the two Indian law firms to make it to Asia Pacific (Ex-Japan) league table by deal count are Amarchand Mangaldas and AZB & Partners..Amarchand Mangaldas is ranked 7th with a market share of 1.2% with a deal volume of $6.91 billion from 68 deals while AZB & Partners is ranked 19th with a market share of 1.7% with a total deal volume of $10.05 billion from 48 deals..AZB & Partners is the only Indian law firm to make it to Asia Pacific Private Equity league table where it is ranked 7th. The firm had a market share of 10.8 % with 19 deals valued at $8.01 billion..India M&A League Tables.Amarchand Mangaldas tops the India M&A league tables both by volume and deal count by advising on 67 deals worth $6.5 billion and with a market share of 20.3%..By Value.AZB & Partners is ranked 5th with 45 deals valued at $3.01 billion followed by Khaitan & Co at 6th position with deals valued at $2.13 billion from 35 deals..The International law firms ahead of AZB and Khaitan in India list are Simmons & Simmons, Davis Polk & Wardwell and Slaughter and May..The other Indian law firms to make it to the list are DSK Legal (ranked 11th with 2 deals valued at $1.62 billion), Platinum Partners (ranked 12th with 1 deal valued at $ 1.60 billion) and S&R Associates (ranked 17th with 7 deals valued at $1.29 billion)..Generic drug maker Mylan Inc’s acquisition of injectable subsidiary of India’s Strides Arcolab for $1.6 billion in an all-cash deal brought Platinum Partners to the India M&A league table on 12th position.
