Hospitality company OYO has acquired Weddingz, an online marketplace for wedding venues and vendors, in a cash-and-stock deal.AZB & Partners advised OYO and the team was led by Partner Niladri Maulik. along with Senior Associate Siddharth Khanna and Associate Nikita Arora.The Mumbai team of IC Universal Legal, led by Partner Souvik Roy acted for Weddingz and its promoters..Weddingz was founded in 2015 by former IIT-Delhi and Wharton School alum Sandeep Lodha.OYO will not rebrand Weddingz and has absorbed the company’s entire workforce of about 200 employees.This is Oyo’s third acquisition this year. In March, it had acquired Chennai-based service apartment Novascotia Boutique Homes. In July, it acquired AblePlus, the Mumbai-based Internet of Things (IoT) startup.
