Kochhar gets 4 new partners; IP practitioner Neeraj Grover, Amarchand’s Niti Paul, Dua’s Nishant Menon, and Nilesh Parekh from Mulla & Mulla

Kochhar & Co. is on an expansion spree, adding four new Partners across the firm’s Delhi and Mumbai offices. Independent IP practitioner Neeraj Grover has joined the firm as a Partner & Head of the Intellectual Property (IP) Litigation practice. Niti Paul, former Principal Associate at Amarchand Mangaldas has joined as a Partner in the corporate team. Former Dua Associates litigation Partner, Nishant Menon has also joined the firm in the litigation team as a Partner. All three have joined the firm’s Delhi office..In the Mumbai office, Nilesh Parekh, who used to work at Mulla & Mulla, has joined as a Partner in the Litigation practice team..Neeraj, who has merged his own practice with Kochhar has extensive experience of handling litigation in diverse areas of law including criminal law (especially white collar crimes), commercial law, cyber law, general civil law, arbitration, banking law, consumer protection etc. In addition, Neeraj regularly represents client on all facets of IP law including prosecutions, criminal enforcement actions and complex litigations relating to trade mark, copyright, patent and design. He was also associated with IP firm Zeus as an Of Counsel..Niti will be part of the firm’s M&A team. Prior to joining Kochhar, she was working at Amarchand Mangaldas as a Principal Associate. A graduate of Delhi University, Niti has worked at erstwhile law firm Chawla & Co for 7 years before moving to Amarchand Mangaldas..Her practice includes advising both Indian as well as International clients on all aspects pertaining to joint ventures, foreign investments-inbound and outbound, mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, regulatory issues and employment laws..Nishant has over 14 years of experience in handling complex commercial disputes and civil litigation and has represented several large Indian and multinational companies in contentious matters. Prior to joining Kochhar, he was a Partner at Dua Associates and had worked at Dua Associates for over 8 years..Nilesh has over 18 years of experience of handling complex litigation matters and commercial arbitrations. Nilesh has extensive experience in handling litigation matters relating to ship arrest & release, charter party disputes, ship building contracts & marine insurance claims..Earlier, in January this year Harry Chawla (who happens to be Niti’s husband), former Senior Amarchand Mangaldas Partner had joined Kochhar as a Senior Partner Corporate and Regional Managing Partner Mumbai. The total partner count at Kochhar is now 36.
