The Kerala Law Academy Moot Court Society shall be conducting its 23rd All India Moot Court Competition scheduled to be held from February 9 to 11, 2012..The KLA Moot Court Competition is one of the oldest and the most prestigious competitions in the country, known for its professional set up and hospitality and one which occupies a unique place in the national calendar of Moot Court Competitions. It has witnessed a growing number of participants each year..The registrations are open till January 20, 2012, with a new cap of 40 teams this year on a first come first serve basis..The Moot problem like every other year, is based on constitutional law..Speaking to Bar & Bench, R. Shaiju, General Secretary of the KLA Moot Court Society, “The competition is open to all Law Colleges and Faculties/University Departments of law in India recognized by the Bar Council of India. The participation is only limited to LLB/BL/BGL students both in the three year and five year scheme.”.There will be two Rolling Trophies, a best memorial prize, two awards for best individual performances and a best lady participant award along with cash prizes of Rs. 5,001/ – and Rs. 2,001/- to be awarded to the best and second best team respectively..Further details may be found here.
