KIIT Law Schools Debating Society to host 1st Parliamentary Debate from October 5-8 2012 Prize money more than Rs25 lakh

“Tarka Samuha”, KIIT School of Law’s Debating Society shall be hosting the first edition of its Parliamentary Debate from October 5-8, 2012 at its campus premises in Bhubhneshwar. The event shall be as per the Asian 3 on 3 style of debating and have a prize money of Rs.2.5 lakh..There shall also be a workshop on October 5 by the Adjudication Core which consists of Vipul Nanda, Pranay Bhatia, Rahul Seth and Karthik Sivaram (you can read more about the Adjudication Core here). All teams which register on or before September 25, 2012 will be provided with accommodation..As per the press release, Tarka Samuha “started off as a student run organization, with “just a handful” of students but has gradually grown into a society of nearly a hundred students meeting every week to debate and adjudicate. The topics for debate range from the political to sports and everything in between. These “sessions of debating” are then followed by a “hard hitting feedback session from the Adjudicators.”.The team composition is three debaters plus (n+1) adjudicators and cross teams are welcome. Cross teams are allowed. The winning team shall be awarded a cash prize of Rs.1 lakh while the runners-up shall be awarded Rs.50,000.
