Kerala Flood: An Emotional Boat of Buoyancy by Supreme Court judges [See Photos]

In a show of solidarity with those affected by Kerala flood, Supreme Court judges, journalists and lawyers got together to raise funds for the relief and rehabilitation work.

At a cultural event organised by the Supreme Court journalists, two Supreme Court judges, Justices Kurian Joseph and KM Joseph stole the show with their soulful renditions.

Chief Justice of India, Justices Dipak Misra was the Chief Guest for the function which was attended by other Supreme Court and Delhi High Court judges, Senior Advocates and law officers.

Besides the two judges, Bollywood singer Mohit Chauhan also sang at the event which also had dance performances by journalist Bhadra Sinha, Gowripriya Somnath (Assistant Professor of Bharatnatyam at Raja Mansingh Tomar Music and Arts University, Gwalior) and Keertana Harish (daughter of Supreme Court journalist Harish V Nair).

Justice KM Joseph, interestingly, began with the song “Vikara Naukamayi” from the movie Amaram, a story about fisherfolk community.

He dedicated the song to the fisherfolk community in Kerala who were at the forefront of rescue operations when the floods had ravaged the State.

Justice Joseph also sang the Hindi song ‘Madhuban khushbu deta hai’.

Justice Kurian Joseph also joined the efforts with the song “we shall overcome” which he sang along with Mohit Chauhan.

Funds to the tune of more than Rs. 10 lakh were raised at the event.

Donations can be made until tomorrow.
