Arvind Kejriwal has sought the minutes of the general body meetings and executive committee meetings which transpired during the tenure of Finance Minister Arun Jaitley as DDCA President..Joint Registrar (Judicial) Pankaj Gupta of Lok Adalat I of the Delhi High Court today issued notice in the Delhi Chief Minister’s application..The application was filed in the ongoing civil defamation case filed by Jaitley against Kejriwal after the latter made allegations of corruption in the DDCA during the Finance Minister’s term as President..Appearing for Jaitley, Advocate Amit Mahajan objected to the prayer, saying that the application was not filed properly, as it prayed for summoning of an officer from the DDCA with documents/records, even though DDCA is not a party to the suit..Mahajan said that a separate plea should have been filed. Notwithstanding the objection, Joint Registrar Gupta has sought Jaitley’s response by July 28..In the previous hearings, Senior Advocate Ram Jethmalani, who has been appearing on behalf of Kejriwal, grilled Jaitley with several questions pertaining to the decisions which were taken in the DDCA meetings..The nonagenarian, who has been a Law Minister in the previous BJP Govt, asked why the Delhi Cricket Stadium was named after Feroz Shah even though there were several other proposals by private individuals as well as the government to sponsor the reconstruction of the stadium..Jaitley replied by saying that there were several oral proposals, however no concrete plans or written submissions were made. He further stated that he does not remember the exact details of the meetings which had taken place over a decade ago..Speaking to Bar & Bench, counsel for Kejriwal, Advocate Anupam Srivastav stated that they would like to have the minutes of the DDCA meetings in order to confront Jaitley with facts during the next round of cross examination..In May, Jaitley, who also holds the Defense Portfolio, filed another defamation case for 10 crore against Kejriwal after Jethmalani referred to him as a “crook” during the cross examination..Read the application:.Image taken from here.
