Justice Rajendra Menon appointed Delhi High Court Chief Justice [Read Notification]

Patna High Court Chief Justice, Justice Rajendra Menon has been transferred to Delhi High Court as Chief Justice. He has to take charge before August 17, 2018.

The notification regarding the same was issued by the Central government yesterday.

“In the exercise of the powers conferred by clause (1) of Article 222 of the Constitution of India, the President of India after consultation with the Chief Justice of India, is pleased to transfer Shri Justice Rajendra Menon, Chief Justice of Patna High Court as the Chief Justice of Delhi High Court and to direct him to assume charge of the office of Chief Justice of Delhi High Court on or before 17th August, 2018.”

Justice Menon was elevated to the Gwalior Bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court as an Additional Judge on April 1, 2002. He was then posted at the Principal Bench of the High Court in 2008, before his elevation as Chief Justice of the Patna High Court in March 2017.

Meanwhile, acting Chief Justice of Delhi High Court, Justice Gita Mittal has been transferred to the Jammu & Kashmir High Court as Chief Justice.
