Justice Aftab Alam is the new TDSAT Chairman

Former Supreme Court judge, Justice Aftab Alam has been appointed as the Chairman of the Telecom Disputes Settlement Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) as reported by Bar & Bench earlier..Justice Alam enrolled as an Advocate on March 27, 1973. He practised in the Patna High Court and was elevated as a Senior Advocate on February 1, 1984. He was appointed as Judge of the Patna High Court on July 27, 1990 and subsequently served as Judge and Acting Chief Justice of Jammu & Kashmir High Court. He was elevated to the Supreme Court and assumed office on November 12, 2007 and retired on April 18, 2013..The post of the Chairman of TDSAT had been lying vacant since Justice SB Sinha’s retirement on November 2, 2012. As reported by Bar & Bench, TDSAT had been rendered defunct after its only serving member, PK Rastogi retired in February this year..With the appointment of Justice Alam, the functioning of TDSAT is expected to return to normalcy..Image taken from here.
