SC disposes of Indira Jaising’s plea for expediting Senior Designations as infructuous

The application filed by Senior Counsel Indira Jaising for expediting the process of conferring senior designations on lawyers was disposed of today.

Attorney General KK Venugopal pointed out to the Court that in light of the recent publication of the list of candidates that have applied for senior designation as well as invitation for objections to the names, the present application was rendered infructuous.

The Bench of Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi and Justice Ajay Rastogi accordingly held that the matter stands disposed of on account of being infructuous now.
