Incomplete affidavits by candidates contesting elections ground for rejection of nomination, holds Supreme Court

The Supreme Court in a significant judgment yesterday held that filing of affidavit with blank particulars by candidates contesting elections will render it nugatory and the nomination paper is fit to be rejected if such defect is not cured despite reminder by the Returning Officer.
