Krishnamurthy & Co has made another top-level hire. Pradeep Ratnam, Group General Counsel of Infrastructure Leasing and Financial Services (IL&FS) group, will be joining the firm as a Partner, as first reported by Legally India.
Pradeep would be heading the firm’s infrastructure practice. Both K Law Managing Partner Naina Krishna Murthy, as well as Pradeep confirmed the news to Bar & Bench.
Naina Krishna Murthy said, “We have known Pradeep for over two decades now as a friend, a college mate and as a professional. Pradeep’s values and experiences are reflective of where the Firm is today and where it wants to go.
We are truly delighted to have him on board and believe that his contribution will only make the firm stronger and accelerate its growth to the next level.”
Pradeep, an NLSIU graduate, previously headed the legal team at IDFC Alternatives. Before that he had nine years’ experience working in the UK and Singapore for firms like Herbert Smith Freehills, Allen & Overy and White & Case.
And after working with IL&FS for four years, Pradeep has made the shift back to a law firm.
On his decision to join K Law, Pradeep said, “Over the years I have greatly admired K Law’s growth, positioning and capabilities. Naina and her team are outstanding professionals and a force to reckon with. Given my background both with international law firms and pedigreed Indian institutions in infrastructure and financial services, I am hugely looking forward to being part of the firm’s trajectory and future”
Earlier, K Law had hired Trilegal Counsel Krishan Venkat as a Partner.
