In 2006, GWU and the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, signed a Technical Collaboration Agreement to mark the commencement of co-operation between India and the US in the IP space. GWU and IIT have jointly set up Rajiv Gandhi School of Intellectual Property Law which is offering a bachelors program in Law and Technology and Intellectual Property Law and a Post Graduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Law
