Fox Mandal Projects and Infrastructure Partner, Dr. Rajesh Sehgal has resigned to move to Singapore where he will take up an in-house counsel position..Sehgal confirmed the move to Bar & Bench but declined to comment any further..This move, the third partner level exit in less than ten months, means that the firm has three non-family Partners namely Swati Sinha, Jyoti Virmani and Veronica Mohan..It is understood that most of Sehgal’s team has left the firm, resulting in very little, if any, projects and infrastructure work being done by Fox Mandal..Sehgal joined the firm in 2009 prior to which he was working with the British High Commission where he was handling Legal Services as Senior Adviser. .The other two Partners who have left are Dev Ashish Mishra and Sudish Sharma, both of whom were part of the corporate practice group. Sharma left the firm in July 2013 and joined Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan as a Partner. Mishra, who had joined Fox Mandal in Ferbruary 2011 from Kochhar & Co. had resigned in November 2013 to set up his own practice..According to reliable sources, the frequent departures are due to the fact that the firm is burdened with a substantial amount of unpaid salaries and dues towards the firm’s lawyers. In fact, there is currently a litigation pending in the Delhi High Court for non-payment of dues to an associate and a partner who had left the firm in 2009..Fox Mandal Managing Partner Som Mandal commented, “We don’t owe any money to anyone who has left recently”.
