Four Additional Judges appointed to Punjab and Haryana High Court [Read Notification]

The Central Government has notified the appointment of four advocates as additional judges to the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

As per the notification issued yesterday, Manjari Nehru Kaul, Harsimran Singh Sethi, Arun Kumar Monga and Manoj Bajaj have been appointed as additional judges of the High Court for a period of two years.

The appointment notification states,

"In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (l) of Article 224 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint (1) Smt. Manjari Nehru Kaul, S/Shri (2) Harsimran Singh Sethi, (3) Arun Monga and (4) Manoj Bajaj, to be Additional Judges of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, in that order of seniority, for a period of two years with effect from the date they assume charge of their respective offices."

Their appointment has been made pursuant to a Supreme Court Collegium resolution passed last month.

Recently, the Collegium also recommended the elevation of two judicial officers, Lalit Batra and Arun Kumar Tyagi, to the Bench of the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
