The Central Government has approved the appointment of four judicial officers as additional judges to the Bombay High Court.
A notification issued today intimates the appointment of the following judicial officers as Bombay High Court judges,
Shriram Madhusudan Modak
Jamadar Nijamoodddin Jahiroddin
Vinay Gajanan Joshi
Avachat Rajendra Govind
All four judges have been appointed for a period of two years in the order of seniority. Their appointment has been made pursuant to a Collegium resolution passed last month.
Judge SM Modak was one of the judges who had accompanied Judge BH Loya to the hospital on the fateful night he passed away.
With the above appointments, the working strength of the Bombay High Court will go up to 72, as against a sanctioned strength of 94 judges.
