Four Additional Judges appointed to Bombay High Court [Read Notification]

The Central Government has cleared the appointment of four advocates as judges of the Bombay High Court.

As per a notification issued yesterday, Avinash G Gharote, NB Suryawanshi, Anil Satyavijay Kilor, and Milind Narendra Jadhav have been appointed as Additional Judges of the High Court for a two-year term. The notification states,

In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (1) of Article 224 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint S/Shri (1) Avinash Gunwant Gharote (2) Nitin Bhagawantrao Suryawanshi, (3) Anil Satyavijay Kilor and (4) Milind Narendra Jadhav, to be Additional Judges of the Bombay High Court, in that order of seniority, for a period of two years with effect from the date they assume charge of their respective offices.

The Supreme Court Collegium had recommended their elevation to the High Court Bench in March this year, along with the name of one more lawyer, following a proposal made by the High Court Collegium in May last year.
