Senior Advocate and eminent jurist Fali S Nariman appeared for New Delhi Television (NDTV) in the Supreme Court today in its challenge to the one-day ban imposed by the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting.
The matter came up for mentioning before a Bench of Justices AK Sikri and NV Ramana at 2 pm.
Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi entered appearance for the Central government and told the court that the Centre is reviewing its decision and that there is no urgency in the matter. Nariman also agreed and the Court proceeded to post the case for December 5.
NDTV was scheduled to be taken off the air for one day tomorrow, for allegedly broadcasting sensitive details of January’s terror attack on the air force base in Pathankot. However, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting yesterday decided to keep the ban on hold pending further orders.
