The Ram Mandir-Babri case in Supreme Court witnessed an explosive hearing today with Senior Advocate Rajeev Dhavan and another lawyer present in court engaging in a heated exchange of words..Arguing before the Bench of Chief Justice Dipak Misra, Justice Ashok Bhushan and Justice S Abdul Nazeer, Dhavan’s submissions on the destruction of the Babri Majid in 1992 triggered a very strong response from Senior Advocate CS Vaidyanathan and other lawyers..“Hindus were tarnished on December 6, 1992 when Hindu Taliban destroyed a mosque, it was an act of terrorism”, said Dhavan..Vaidyanathan strongly objected to the same, saying that such language and words should not be used..“There should be orderly conduct in court”, said Vaidyanathan..However, another lawyer standing in the crowd decided to take things a step further. He started shouting at Dhavan trying to make his way forward to get near the Senior Counsel..“You are comparing Hindus with Taliban. How can you do that? What kind of words are these”, the lawyer shouted at the top of his voice..He then got close to Dhavan at which point security personnel came inside and escorted the lawyer away..Dhavan all the while continued to maintain that he will stand by his statement that it was an act of terrorism by Hindu Taliban..CJI Dipak Misra then said that such adjectives should not be used inside the court and the decorum of the court should be maintained after which the hearing resumed..The Court after hearing Dhavan reserved verdict on whether the case should be referred to a Constitution Bench or not..Below are live tweets from the hearing..Read the order below.
