He was elevated as an Additional Judge of the High Court of Gujarat on March 7, 2004 and was made permanent Judge of High Court of Gujarat on January 25,2006.He was transferred to Jharkhand High Court on February 3, 2009..Prior to this he has served as the Acting Chief Justice of the Jharkhand High Court twice – from August 4, 2013 to November 15, 2013 and from August 13, 2014 to October 31, 2014..Besides Jharkhand, the High Courts of Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Calcutta and Andhra Pradesh/Telengana are headed by acting Chief Justices.
