DHC to discipline judgesadvocates Chief Justice to consider audiovideo recording court proceedings

The Delhi High Court has put forward the idea of audio / video recording of the court proceedings to bring in transparency in the judicial arena. The matter has now been referred to the Chief Justice of the High Court to constitute a larger Bench to look into this issue..The Delhi High Court has put forward the idea of audio / video recording of the court proceedings to bring in transparency in the judicial arena. The matter has now been referred to the Chief Justice of the High Court to constitute a larger Bench to look into this issue..The Hindustan Times has reported that the petition has been moved by Advocate K.V. Dhananjay..Justice Dhingra while hearing this petition said, “It is high time we should consider introduction of authenticated audio / video recordings of the proceedings in all courts, more specifically in district courts and for proving contempt cases”..Justice Dhingra further said, “This will discipline not only those judges who do not come to the courts on time but will also discipline advocates and litigants who try to obtain orders from the court by show of force…”..We understand that the Delhi High Court is making good use of technology and is taking a step in the right direction. The High Court has previously in 2009 initiated technology and has since then been in a reform mode.
