

Anicut Capital’s CFO, Ajay Anand, Indian Angel Network (IAN) lawyer, Ankita Singh and Phoenix Legal senior associate, Shikha Bhardwaj have opened a one-stop business support and advisory firm Regina Legal. The office is located in Delhi’s Connaught Place.
The three partners bring with them their collective expertise in dealing with hundreds of investors, funds, venture capitalists (VC) and start-ups as well as established companies on their corporate, commercial, taxation, intellectual property and other key strategic issues.
Regina Legal positions itself as a legal market disruptor, not just providing legal support, representation and advisory services but also taking care of the financial and operational needs that go into the day-to-day business of its clients.
Regina co-founding partner Ajay Anand commented,
“Since the team understands the pain points of both start-ups and investors it is well equipped to bridge the gaps and early closure, thus pushing to make the funds available to the start-ups expeditiously.”
A 2006 law graduate, Ajay has 12 years of experience anchoring critical next round investments for a 450-HNI strong network’s portfolio companies raising funds from VCs and strategic investors.
He began his career heading the accounts department at the All India Service Organisation, went on to head IAN and IAN Fund as CFO and in April 2018 he took the role of CFO at Anicut Capital which has one of the largest Indian debt funds with a target corpus of Rs. 400 crore.
Ankita Singh specialises in advising and end-to-end representation of start-ups on closing fund raising deals and supporting the investors on getting the right value for their money. In addition to investment and restructuring transactions, she also focuses on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, exit transactions, company formation, debt transactions and company law matters.
Her career includes stints at law firms, Fox Mandal and Lexport, other than IAN. Ankita is a practising lawyer since 2011 and is a qualified company secretary.

Shikha Bhardwaj has extensive experience in indirect taxation including Goods and Services tax, Customs, Foreign Trade Policy and erstwhile indirect taxes.
Her experience in addition to Phoenix Legal spans top tier firm J Sagar Associates (JSA) and law firms Lexport and Reina Legal, where she advised clients on tax efficient strategies and restructuring business operations to mitigate tax exposure and compliance with prevalent tax provisions.
