Delhi High Court transfers all commercial suits valued at Rs. 2 crore or less to District Courts

In view of the Commercial Courts, Commercial Division and Appellate Division of High Courts (Amendment) Act 2018, the Delhi High Court has transferred all commercial suits valued at or below Rs. 2 crore pending before it to the respective District Courts.

The direction is applicable to suits filed on or after May 3, 2018.

The said amendment in the Commercial Courts Act has reduced the pecuniary jurisdiction of the Delhi High Court by altering the 'specified value' from Rs. 1 crore . . .
