The Delhi High Court today asked the Delhi Police to file a status report on the investigation of the death of Shashi Tharoor’s wife Sunanda Pushkar within three days..The Court passed the order while hearing the plea filed by BJP MP Subramanian Swamy seeking a court-monitored Special Investigation Team to look into Pushkar’s death..Pushkar was found dead in her hotel room in January 2014. Swamy, in his petition, had alleged that she was going to disclose information regarding murky dealings in the Indian Premier League..Appearing for the Delhi Police, Standing Counsel Rahul Mehra said that the Police is close to completing the investigation. He submitted,.“We may not have been able to satisfy Dr. Swamy, but we assure the court that we are close to concluding the investigation.”.The Bench of Justices GS Sistani and Chandra Shekhar observed that they will take a look at what the Delhi Police has to say before any decision is taken. The Bench stated,.“According to you (Swamy), nothing has happened in the past 3 years. There may be a plausible explanation. Let us examine.” .The matter will next be heard on August 1.
