The Delhi High Court has issued notice in a PIL to quash a circular issued by the Union Railways Ministry mandating a separate disability identity card in order to avail concessions in booking railway tickets.
The plea filed by the National Platform for the Rights of the Disabled (NPRD) contends that this circular conflicts with the scheme of the Unique Disability Identity Card (UDID), which is otherwise recognised to avail benefits for the differently abled throughout the country.
