CNLU Patna hosts its first convocation ceremony Students from the Class of 2011 and 2012 receive degrees

The Chanakya National Law University, Patna (CNLU) hosted its first convocation ceremony the graduating Class of 2011 as well as the Class of 2012, on February 23, 2013. The ceremony was held within the University campus. Eighty students from the Class of 2011 and seventy-seven students from the Class of 2012 were awarded their undergaduate degrees..The ceremony was presided over by the Chief Justice of India, Justice Altamas Kabir, the Chief Justice of Patna High Court and CNLU Chancellor Justice Rekha M. Doshit, and the Chief Minister of Bihar Mr. Nitish Kumar. The Vice-Chancellor of CNLU, Dr. A. Lakshminath delivered the opening address of the ceremony and wished the students success in future endeavours..In his speech, Chief Justice Kabir advised the students to be compassionate and caring human beings. He also advised them to discharge their duties with integrity and to uphold the dignity of legal profession. Speaking about the students at CNLU he said “I have interviewed students of CNLU and they are bright enough to be competing with students of any other National Law University of India.”.Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, the Guest of Honour mentioned that in a short span of time, CNLU has become one of the best law universities of the country and has the potential to become the best in the near future. The convocation also witnessed participation from various sitting judges of Patna High Court and other eminent legal personalities..S Ruma, and Qurratulain were awawded the Prof Lakshminath Medal for best student in the undergaduate course from the Class of 2012 and 2012 respectively.
