CLAT 2013 update: First Provisional Allotment List to be revised

The CLAT Committee has decided to review and revise the First Allotment List published on June 2, 2013. The decision has come in the wake of allegations of discrepancies in the list culminating in the Kerala High Court issuing notice to Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur (HNLU)..According to the notification published on CLAT website,.“In view of certain unavoidable important developments after the publication of the first provisional allotment list such as:(a) the Hon’ble Court’s direction to publish the withheld results of three candidates and allocate seats to them in order of their merit;(b) doubts expressed by certain candidates regarding the order of their preferences for universities and the subsequent allotment of seats;(c) consideration of ST Hills at par with ST/ST Plain for allotment of seats; and(d) fresh guidelines provided by Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University, Lucknow, for reservation of seats for Dependants of Freedom Fighters;the First Provisional Allotment List is being reviewed and revised thoroughly from all angles. Based on the outcome of the review, the revised list will be notified on the CLAT website at the earliest.”.The Kerala High Court had today issued notice to HNLU in a petition filed by 4 candidates alleging discrepancies in the First Provisional Allotment List..In another incident, Vinatoli Yeptho, a Scheduled Tribe Hills candidate, who had secured an all India rank of 13, 186, was not allotted a seat despite her eligibility in the reservation category. Yeptho is an IDIA scholar from Nagaland. IDIA had initially contemplated legal action but subsequently, decided against it..Further, the results of 3 candidates, that had initially been withheld, were subsequently published..With the decision to review the allotment list, the admission of all the students in the First Provisional Allotment List might be on hold till the revised list is published.
