Manoj Mishra, a former Associate Director – Indirect Tax at Grant Thornton has recently joined the Delhi office of Clasis Law to set up the firm’s Indirect Tax practice.Manoj, who will be the ‘Head of Indirect Tax’, is supported by a team of two Anchal Arora (chartered accountant) and Angela Sharma (lawyer), who have also joined the firm from Grant Thornton..At Grant Thornton, which he joined in 2007, Manoj was responsible for the indirect tax practice in North India. Prior to joining Grant Thornton he was working with Khaitan & Co. and has also had stints at KPMG and Honda Siel Cars India Limited..Speaking to Bar & Bench on his decision to move to a law firm, Manoj says, “The Big Four are more focused on revenue generation and have moved more towards compliances rather than core areas like advisory, litigation and providing value addition to clients. Law firms, specifically ones like Clasis, stick to the fundamental of providing value addition to their clients and not to do mundane work.”.“As a professional, you always want to do something where you provide value addition to your clients and also gives you job satisfaction.
