Child Rape cases: 24,000 FIRs registered in 2019, 911 cases disposed; Supreme Court appoints V Giri as Amicus

More than 24,000 FIRs regarding child rape cases were registered in 2019 across the country. This is as per the data handed over by the Supreme Court to Amicus Curiae in a suo motu petition registered by the Court.
