The Central government today told Supreme Court that it does not support any kind of vigilantism..The submission was made by Solicitor General Ranjit Kumar during the hearing of PIL filed by Tehseen Poonawalla seeking action against Cow vigilantes. He also said that the issue is a State subject and not under the purview of Central government..“The Centre does not support any kind of vigilantism. However, the matter is a State subject”, he said..The Court recorded the submissions of Solicitor General and also directed the Centre and States to file affidavits in response to the prayers in the petition.
