The Central government has cleared the appointment of two judicial officers as judges of the Andhra Pradesh High Court. The two judicial officers are Cheekati Manavendranath Roy and M Venkata Ramana.

The Supreme Court Collegium had recommended their names for elevation to High Court on April 15, 2019.

The Collegium had factored in the material on record regarding their suitability, including inputs by the Department of Justice, as well as personal interaction.

Their names had been recommended for elevation by the Chief Justice of the erstwhile common High Court for the States of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh in September 2018.

Apart from these two officers, five other judicial officers were also been recommended for elevation as High Court judges by the High Court Collegium.
