Urgent need for Centre to give timeframe within which Abortion Law will be amended: Madras HCApril 25 2019
The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court has directed the Centre to come out with a timeframe within which the country's abortion law i.e. the Medical Termination of Pregnancy Act, 1971, will be amended.
The Bench of Justices N Kirubakaran and SS Sundar passed an order to this effect on Wednesday, in a suo motu PIL initiated by the Court.
