New #BombayHC roster: CJ Waghela to sit in single bench, Commercial Courts + more

A new sitting list has been announced for the Bombay High Court, effective once the court re-opens after the summer break. The new roster will be one of several modifications that have taken place following the appointment of Justice DH Waghela as Chief Justice..The most significant change this time is that CJ Waghela will now be sitting singly, and taking up specially assigned matters. MS Sonak J, who used to sit with the Chief, will now be sitting with Justice VM Kanade..All matters relating to environment laws, Right to education, petitions challenging orders by Central Administrative Tribunal and Maharashtra Administrative Tribunal will be heard by this division bench headed by Kanade J..Prakash Deo Naik J, who was sworn-in mid March along with MS Karnik J, will now be sitting with Justice Naresh Patil while Karnik J will be on the division bench headed by Justice SS Kemkar..Kemkar J was transferred from the Madhya Pradesh High Court last month..This division bench headed by Kemkar J will now hear matters relating to unauthorized constructions in Municipal areas etc, this was earlier a part of Kanade J’s assignment.
